Autobiographies are a very critical aspect of human life depicting narratives of the lived experiences. They do not only mirror and reconstruct the past life of the writer, they also help us, the readers, to better understand the world we live in. Though they always tell personal stories, they could also be sometimes filled with egoistical images of people who wish to ring their bells  for self-respect.

A  Journey in Leadership by Tijjani Borodo is a piece in the opposite direction. It mirrors the life of a man with strong leadership character and positive values in his various endeavours. Much as the work is about the life that the author has led, it is also so much about leadership and public service as it is about the history of a leading financial institution in Nigeria, the First Bank Group.
